Foothills Road Improvements
Al Densmore is working with the County and The Oregon Department Of Transportation to improve the north-south roads in the valley such as Foothills Road, helping alleviate commuter congestion and utilize smart technology to advise motorists of alternative routes when congestion occurs on the freeway. The whole idea is to look at ways to improve the local roads to defer adding lanes to I-5. Improving valley roads such as Foothills Road is a much more cost effective use of revenue and can produce much of the same result. I-5 is currently the most heavily traveled freeway in the United States according to ODOT executives.
